I use privateinternetaccess and there is no conflict with steam. If I switch it off (it limits my bandwidth) then all I need to do is re login to steam. No big deal.

Steam works fine with my VPN, though latency is a little better when I turn it off. Speed is plenty fast, just not as fast as my normal FiOS connection (which I clocked at 130 mbps the other day).

Yeah I figured it would be fine with it enabled but isn't it against Steam's TOS to use a VPN ?

I always thought my account could get banned if they ever detect it or find out somehow.

Is it? They probably mean using it to circumvent banning, or if you use an excessive or suspicious amount of IPs with your login. There shouldnt be a way for them to tell otherwise, unless your VPN IP gets shared a lot. Plenty of people set up their own VPN servers, it shouldnt be a problem.

How does PIA compare to TorGuard for $30/yr?

As the name implies it's a steaming pile of shit distribution network for games. Once you download a game you have to keep steam running in order to play the game. Just give me the fucking DVD.

Okay dinosaur, just go back to bed, i will send little jimmy in later and you can recite those old war stories you keep bitching about.

I have torguard and my friend has PIA. From a quality of connection standpoint, they are pretty much the same. The biggest difference that doesn't impact me is that PIA has a better Mac Client VPN software. I personally use Viscosity on my mac to connect to my VPN service.

That was the biggest difference we saw. We did speedtests from a common location using each service and they were really close.

Dinosaur???? Why on earth would you want a damn Internet download when you can have the DVD? They have you by the balls with your Internet connection. It's bad enough that new games have the bull shit Origin and then BF3 needs a browser to launch. No Internet, no SP mode. One day games will be released on Blue-ray. You simply can't download 25 GBs.

I have many war stories. While I was pawning in BF2142 you were just sucking on your mother's tit. LOL!

I have 80+ games on steam, do you know how much space physically that would take up? Do you realize that if these discs get damaged I am SOL on a lot of them. Steam allows me to install these games on as many computers as I want, all I have to do is log in and start playing, if my entire computer dies, i reinstall steam on a new computer and BAM, just redownload.

If a fire destroyed my home, every game I play is totally safe, now I would have a lot more to worry about than just games, but the fact remains I would have games where as you would be shit out of luck.

Also, Orign, bf3, no single player, all of that is EA, not Steam you fool.

and bluray games are already out there for PS3 and soon to be PS4 and xbox1.
