Those life insurance small offers

I have several of these life insurance offer things that I get from banks, etc. For example, they say "This basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance" doesn't cost anything for a $2000 protection. Anyone know how these work, like if I get coverage like this at 2 banks, do I get $4000 if I were in a fatal accident, or do I just get one coverage? Anyone else do these or not do these, and why? I'd appreciate your help.

You would get coverage on all of them, I believe, since they would be from different banks.

Why do they do this? Because they want to sell you MORE life insurance than the amount they give you free. They'll send you mail with information on how you can purchase a higher level of insurance. They are willing to give you a token amount free for the chance to sell you more.
