I'm not a audiophile by any means .. so I had no problem with them when I first got my ipod.

It's been about a week since I've had my ipod and i've been happy with the earbuds until now

The earbuds made a slight contact with the floor and it's making static sounds and one of them is louder than the other. Are they THIS fragile?

I also bought a ipod mini for someone and the earbud on those have the EXACT same problems. I can;t be the only one experiencing this...

the earbuds are less than a week old

I have a cheap pair of radioshack earbuds and I can throw it across the room and it will still work perfect.

I have already filled out the online replacement form on the apple site... but this freaking sucks
The white earbuds look better than these black cheap radioshack ones but the build of the stock ipod earbuds is extremely poor

Sennheiser MX500 are very good should you need something more portable.

God, I hate the iPod earphones. I decided to try them after using my Sony earbuds for a while, and they don't friggin stay in my ear. They were forever popping out, and the sound is horrible compared to the Sony's. Ugh.

but has anybody experienced the problem I just described?

I like the look of the ipod earbuds and I don't mind how it sounds but is the build this poor on the rest ?(after a small contact it starts making static sounds and other problems)

the static happened to my earbuds after about 6 months. i went on apple's site, sent a request about a defective earbud, and got a new pair of headphones in the mail the next day.

More importantly, why would one want to look like he/she owns' an ipod ? Target to be pickpocketted when not looking?

I can vouch there the same headphones, literally. A friend of mine , bored as he was , placed my MX400's cables through a hole puncher. Brought MX500 next day, no different with exception to volume control.

I don't know if the current iPod earbuds are the same, but the first-gen iPod earbuds were massive! Either I have small ears, or those things are huge, because I had a really hard time fittng them in my ears.

I tossed my ipod earbuds since they always got tangled up so badly whenever I put then in my pocket, and untangling them is just too much. My old RioVolt earbuds just can't die, using them now. You can feel the difference in quality.
