Those Interested in Creatine + Dextrose

That is also the Dextrose that I use. I don't buy in such large quantities so buying it online is worthless for me. $2.00 for the bag of dextrose and $3-4 dollars for shipping! I just searched around and found it locally (only one store carries it).

Locally as in a grocery store, a specialty store, or like a vitamin store?

Lol, this is supposed to be news or something? I was mixing my creatine with dextrose back in 98 when I started using it. Old freaking news.

All you're doing is adding empty calories. Why not just take a bit more creatine if you're afraid not enough of it is being saturated. Creatine is cheap as dirt, and you won't get fat from all those calories.

It's not new news by any means. There was just some posts here earlier about people who mentioned adding dextrose to their creatine drink, however many people were unsure of where to actually buy dextrose. So I made a post saying where you can buy it online to try and help them out. So do you have anything useful to add to this discussion or just trolling around tonight?

From what I've been reading you need to have a lot of simple carbs from dextrose and/or maltodextrin after you workout to spike your insulin levels. I haven't totally read up on it, but the general idea is that after you work out your muscles are like sponges but are also depleted. So having a high sugar drink with your creatine helps transport the creatine into the muscle easier and also the simple carbs feed your muscles to stop them from breaking down...or at least that's the general idea I believe.

Staley, I also had trouble finding dextrose online when I went looking for it.

I got the same 2 lb Now dextrose from Vitaglo for $1.81. Shipping is free for orders over $50.

The postworkout carbs are more important than the creatine. Just don't overdo if you're trying to lose weight!
