I think the keyword for those cages is "RAID" array, and while I never paid a lot of attention to the ads, I believe that I did see cages exactly that size, five 3 1/2" HDD's for four 5 1/4" bays. Because the growth rate in my own storage needs stopped outstripping the ready availability of high capacity drives about the time that 20 GB's became popular, I never thought about wanting more than two HDD's at a time while the ads he wrote about were appearing. I also do not remember any included active cooling provisions.

At www.sundialmicro.com they have a 4 in 3 device . This is mainly for the CM Stacker Case but it should fit any case provided you like seeing the fan grill.

You can put 4 normal hd's in this cage. www.newegg.com has sata & scsi hotswap cages also..

It's the CoolerMaster 4-in-3 box - avaliable at jab-tech.com or svc.com for $20. I'm planning to get one for my computer pretty soon. It is a Stacker accy but will work in many others too - some minor modding may be required.
. Some of the others mentioned are hot-swap cages that cost over $100 - not what you were planning to spend methinks...

Must've been that CM 4 in 3 and I screwed up the numbers. I was looking at the front of my case and 3 bays didn't seem big enough for a 120mm fan. I tried searching for 4 in 3 as well but still got nothing.

oh well.

thanks AT.

YW!

Yeah, 3 bays will hold a 120 easy - I've got one in mine now. which will go on my 4in3 box when I get it. The one that comes with it is a pretty cheesy sleeve-bearing fan.
