It is a very sad situation, but doesn't anyone wonder where all of that money went for earthquake relief? It sure doesn't look like it went to rebuild the country or its infrastructure. Not to mention the 35-40% of their national budget made up of donations from other countries... They have received billions of dollars in foreign aid and they have nothing to show for it except the huge tent cities that were demolished in the earthquake.

It is very difficult to help people who don't want to help themselves. The war lords and corrupt government officials have been there for decades and nothing has changed....Based on these riots, the UN should just leave...wonder what the haitians would say then???

Besides, if they cared enough to fix their own country, the UN wouldn't be there in the first place...

Maybe those that are providing the aid need to have their own government handle the politics and let those that are doing the work get it to the people.

Someone from an aid country to run interference and not allow the BS to get to the workers.

Hati is running on bribes - items can not get through the system because of roadblocks.
So, remove the roadblocks. Container goods go into leased warehouses by the aid country, not the government controlled warehouses.

To be fair, the strain of cholera spreading there is identical to one found in south Asia. And the first cases were downstream from the Nepalese camp. And Haiti hasn't had an outbreak in forever. Sure seems like it came from them.
