There's no way a sub 500 dell would be near this good.

Someone else has already expressed interest in buying it but PM me if interested in case he doesnt. I'm not going to be a d*ck and get into a bidding process, this guy has 1st dibs but if he doesn't go for it then its open to you.

3.4ghz P4 1mb, 925x, 1 gig PC4300 533mhz Dual Channel DDR2, Asus 6600gt, NEC-3500 etc... !

I have no connection to them, but RossMAN's GottaDeal.com has a whole Dell section and they saved me a lot of money on my 2100FP LCD.

For $500, I recommend a used system. However, you can probably find something better than the above example on Ebay. And if you don't want to get anything used, there's always Newegg.

However, if you really need something pre-built, try this...

http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopp...mpaq_presario&storeName=computer_store
Compaq Presario SR1010Z series, customized
Windows XP Home SP2
Sempron 3000+ (1.8 GHz, 128 KB L2)
256 MB DDR SDRAM
160 GB SATA hard disk
double layer 16X DVD burner
front USB/firewire/audio ports
integrated graphics
5.1 audio
keyboard & mouse
MS Works 8.0
$494.99 total - $50.00 rebate = $444.99

You can get an Athlon 64 3400+ for an additional $50.00. Upgrading to 512 MB RAM costs another $40.00.

Lol Dell doin some $300 right now. You could always then by a DVD burner for it for $50. But I hate Dell more than anything in the world. So I would reccommend building one.

A lot of those Dell deals are before tax & shipping. That $299 PC advertised on the website, for example, actually comes out to $423.99.

Dell is almost always a bad idea. Sometimes you might find a special deal, but not very often. And even when you do find a good deal, it's not usually practical. For example, Dell was oftering a $400 PC bundled with a 19" LCD display a few weeks ago. While that certainly very cheap, it had nothing but a CD-ROM and no modem. Think about that: would you buy a PC with just a CD-ROM?

In any case, no such deals exist at the moment. The best major-brand vendor right now is HP/Compaq.

Still looking?

Does it have to be a Dell?

I found a brand new budget system with 15" LCD for $199 after rebates, starts this Sunday.

I know it is a week later, but someone else may benefit from the Dell deal website. Note: that website tends to be delayed by a day or two, so it isn't up to date for this week yet.

Dell deals change usually once a week. Thus, if you don't like what you see, wait a week and you'll likely find a completely different deal. Conversely, if you find a deal that meets your needs, don't wait to order it. Honestly, you do often have to upgrade from the rock bottom computer listed there, but for ~$600 you can usually get a very good computer with monitor.

About 3-4 times a year, Dell has two weekly promotions that overlap. The result will be double the savings and a sub $500 computer with just about everything that most computer users want/need in a computer. But you have to watch every day, wait up to a few months, and be ready to buy at the very moment you see the deal since it is usually overlapping for just one day.
