Thorton and ECS

I just got a XP 2000+ thorton core. When I install it in my ECS L7S7A2 mainboard it will not post. My XP 1700+ runs fine in the same board, even overclocked at 1.8ghz. I have flashed the bios to the most current and it should support barton CPUs. Does anyone have any experience with this mobo and a thorton core? Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.
