This years Perseids might be good

Reminder they're coming up August 12th.

Now, does that mean Friday August 11th->to the morning of the 12th, or Saturday the 12th into Sunday the 13th?

From space.com : "The meteor shower's actual peak is around 1 p.m. EDT Aug. 12, which means that the night before and the night after will both have good rates; Cooke said the show would be slightly better in the predawn hours of Aug. 12, but that there'd be a decent show both nights."

Awesome, it falls when I'm off work. So if it's not cloudy I'll get lot of opportunity to check it out. It's been pretty cold here lately which is sort of a bonus as it means there won't be any mosquitoes. I just hope it won't be cloudy.

Saw a couple, but it got cloudy.

As a side note the moon was freaking epic for a while, it was huge and very yellowish, almost orange. I got my telephoto lens all setup, and clouds covered it too. 🙁
