While I am totally behind Perry and consider him a hero, this story is proof positive why you shouldn't waste your time with anything under .40 hollows.

The only way you are garunteed to kill someone with a gun shot is if the bullet severes the brain stem or you hit them in the heart or major artery to the heart. Being in the police academy, we have seen people that have been shot numerous times with .40s and .45s and they are still fighting. There was a kid in LA that got hit in the head by a stray .357 mag and lost the right lobe of his brain and went on to graduate college.

As far as this wrestler goes, props to him, hopefully he will be ok, and be on televised events that they show in prison, cause that would probably scare the guy that got caught.

Yeah I know, I've read and seen em too. But you gotta admit, bigger wound, bigger chance of severing the column...not to mention bigger psych effect from the great big BOOM!

two words if you want to have the best bullets for self defense money can buy.

Ballistic Tip

The bullets dont mushroom in flight, and do not fragment or mushroom on impact, they cause severe hydraulic shock to any tissue it hits, basically turning organs into putty.

(these bullets are not legal in all states, however, PA is still legal)

holy crap...he always seemed like a good guy on the shows...I'm glad he was able to recover, but it sucks that this happened at all. I might have missed it, but aside from attempted rape, the perp(s) got stuck with attemped murder or whatever, right? So they're gone for life, hopefully.
