I just saw the trailer for the new Incredible Hulk movie, and noticed something. When the final frame of trailer comes up where it has rating and production info, there is a "Disclaimer" I guess, that says "This film contains depictions of tobacco consumption." So what? You can walk less than a half mile in most places and see real tobacco consumption. I understand the MPAA puts descriptions of why they give movies the rating they do just under the rating box, and that's fine; but this was a separate box on it's own like it's more important than the rating. Not only that, but tobacco is legal. I don't remember seeing a box on the trailers for Blow saying "This film contains depiction of Cocaine consumption."
And yes, I understand that there are a lot more important things to be concerned about, but I decide to take the day off from meaningful worries. lol
Update- I just found this article on IMDB. This explains their disclaimer a little bit. I guess it was an attempt to appease the AMA. I still think it's kinda stupid, but it makes more sense now.
