Worse??
not seeing a lot of winter so far in Texas - milder than usual.
Yes there was wintry precipitation on the northern counties during the night - but we'll be back into the 70s by Wednesday.

summer was mild - winter is mild so far . . . no extremes. yay.

It's cold in CT at the moment (high was 34f) but overall so far I agree its been mild.

In fact its been years since we had an extended period of real testicular-numbing cold near the Atlantic coast.

It’s a damp cold here in Boston. Sitting here wearing a Sherpa hoodie, with fleece lining that is oversized & goes to my knees to stay warm

It was a cold bastige all day, 36 and rain with some 'character' to it.
I had a fantasy of not having to drain the irrigation system this year, it was only a dream though.
It will drop to the low 20's by Sunday/Monday.
That is quite chilly for the Puget Sound area.

Announcing another snow storm overnight. 7-14cm with snow squalls and wind and other fun stuff. Just hope it does not go into Quebec until the day, I want a quiet shift. :p

we had the massive BlackOut of 2003 that put over 50 million people in the dark. I was glad it happened in summer and not winter.

Woah it does not feel like it was that long ago, but yeah it was. I remember that. We BBQed supper and power came back overnight if I remember. It didn't last as long as it could have, given the circumstances. I think some places were out longer though.

Now days I'm a bit better prepared for a wide spread outage with my solar panels so I think I'd be fine, but a winter one would still be tricky since we don't get much sun. So if it happened in middle of a snow storm I'd have to make sure to conserve battery power.
