While it didn't paint the most accurate picture of the entire Christian church, they did portray church politics, and the largest problem facing the Christian church, quite well. Churches are getting too money-oriented and less oriented on what it's all really about: "we need to buy 10, $100 robes for the heck of it, so put more in the collection plate instead of giving it to the homeless."

Just a question but if you are on the west coast and you haven't seen the episode yet and you know there is probably information about the upcoming episode in a thread entitled 'This week's simpsons episode', why would you click on it?

What did Richard Gere say about "It's a good thing Buddha teaches deliverance from something, because I'm something to kick your ass!!!"

That was funny shiite

Quiet, you! 🙂

Can't resist Simpsons threads.....must...have.....Simpsons....

the beginning was really good.. the part with the hamster flying the rocket, i was laughing soo hard. But after that it went downhill.. i'm really starting to lose interest in that show.

The exact quote is, "It's a good thing Buddhism teaches freedom from desire because I've got the desire to kick your ass!"

And this episode started out great with the rocket and commercialized church, but it went downhill from there.

This episode was hilarious for a different reason. The episodes have become more Family Guy-esque (another hilarious show). The olden days were the best, but now, they seem to rely on sight gags and such for laughs. It works, but I don't feel good about it. 😛

The hamster part was pretty friggin hilarious though. 😀

<< A very good episode, but carl and lenny wouldn't drink if they were buddhists. >>

I've got Buddhist friends who drink...a lot

The hamsters should have been gerbils, though, given that Richard Gere was on the show :Q
