This truck is cool.

Reminds me of my grandpa's 1972 Chevy Custom 10. Great truck, especially since we put the 500ci aluminum block in it. 😀

what year is your truck, my dad had a 69.5 maverick 2 door and my mom a 70 something and I think both steering wheels were like your's....this was about 30 years ago though so I don't remember if there were exact.

Your seats, if you like the bench and the foam is ok should be easy to redo...re carpeting should be easy too since you don't have much 'form-fitting' to do. Repaint the gauge covers and cover the dash and doors in new vinyl....viola new interior for cheap. They may even have reupholstery kits.

paint is paint and can be costly or cheap depending on who does it and does it right. My brother got a not exactly cheap paint job, but not premium either and the overspray melted plastic parts and covered other's in his engine compartment...the contract had a disclaimer about overspray so the company was not bound even though it was excessive.

With the engine the most expensive part is getting the bottom end redo...then you can decorate it as you want inside the engine compartment 🙂

He may have never run it at the track.

All that money and time and never finding out what it'll do?

The goal isn't to put more do-dads on your car/truck then the next guy, the goal is to have your gonads drawn up in increasingly tighter balls as your ETs come down.

Maybe he just finished it, or maybe he has plenty of fun with it on the street and doesn't take it to the track, or maybe he just didn't feel like including his times.

Overall, nice buildup.

I can see almost 8 inches of the tailgate in the second pic, and only about 6 inches through the window, also of the tailgate, in the other one 😛

Well, you'll just have to take my word that it's not really a thing of beauty, but it's got function up the wazoo 😉

My kind of truck 🙂

my first truck(vehicle) was an old '68 Chevy. It had a 350 in it but exactly a month after I got it, it threw a crank bearing in a cylinder. This guy I knew said he had a block I could have that was just taking up space in his grandma's garage. I ran the number through the local auto parts dealer and it ended up a 327 out of an old corvette. SOB ran like a mofo after that. I ended up boring the cylinders, dropping a racing cam, already had a 350Turbo tranny in it. Never ran it at the track but it would run though.

with that much engine and those aerodynamics, he probably hits his top speed before the 1/4 is up. probably a hell of a ride, too. 🙂
