my mom's computer was fvcked by Aurora and I'm trying to tech support over the phone. I got her in to safe mode but since her LCD has a DVI connection, it won't display in Safe Mode by default (it looks for VGA).

So without a VGA cable, is it possible to make safe mode show up on her lcd?

If it's not the dvi/vga cable, then why would the computer turn to a black screen when entering safe mode?

It doesn't make sense that only VGA will display in Safe Mode...

I really can't say for sure on her computer since I'm 600 miles away, but on my LCD, DVI will not show up in safe mode. I have to plug in my VGA cable

Use the search button?

Thanks, I'll check it out sometime if I know of someone who has the same problem.

I just found some steps about it online. Seemed to work pretty well (except for safe mode attempt)
