First I guess I'll list my system components:

AMD Atlon 1.4 AYHJA w/ Taisol HSF
Epox 8k7a
512 meg Crucial DDR
Gainward CardXpert GeForce 3
340W "High Power" PSU
1 CDRW, 1DVD, 2 WD Harddrives
1 NetGear 10/100 NIC
1 Guillemot Fortisimo Sound Card
1 front intake fan, 1 rear output fan (besides the psu), 1 Bigass suck-in fan side mounted... (see picture)

picture

Now, I can't get this 1.4 past 1.53Ghz... Why not? It's not the heat cause the side fan keeps things real cool.. CPU never gets over 40C...

It's now running at 146 x 10.5 (1.85v)
My memory is 8882622 (I have tried 2.5cas... doesn't seem to make a difference)

If anyone has a second to help, here's what I need...

I would like to know your "Advanced Chipset Features" found in your bios... There's about 10-15 different options in there.. Can you tell me what yours are set at?
And your "Frequency/Voltage Control" in the bios... there are 3 options... what do you have there?
Finally, what are your jumpers set to on the motherboard? CPU Multiplier? What about your CPU Vcore Adjust (JP2) and the DDR Adjust (JP3)?

I know this might be asking alot, but i'm dying to try and break 1600Mhz..

Thanks..
Mark

Check your +5 volt on motherboard monitor. Most often, the problem is the Power Supply.

If it's not the power supply, I have a similar setup and have had problems overclocking with the new Detonator XP drivers for my Geforce3. If you are using the new drivers, try going back to the 12 series.

here's a link to a article that shows you all you'll want to know about memory timings on your mobo( even the various effects on performance/stability) 8K7A REVIEW and since your more interested in max mhz than bandwidth I suggest backing of to the default 133 FSB and just playing with the multiplier. Have fun mon.

Most probably ur PSU. Wht's ur voltage rail..the 12v, 5v & 3.3v reading? Both f/load & idle.
