This system should be able to run BATTLEFIELD2 at Medium settings at 1024x768 right?

Are your drivers in place? You've got to be kidding me if you can't run it at medium

Definitely. That's what I play at. And I have 2400-3200 (depending if o/c) Barton, 1GB, 9800 Pro.

You should be able to run it higher then that... I run my 6600GT at 1280x960 High 2xAA and it's fairly smooth, can dip sometimes, but never slows down at 1024x768 High 2xAA.

I've got a 2500+ Barton, 1GB of RAM, and a 9800 Pro.

I play @ 1600x1200 (x32, no AA, no AF) /w medium details at around 40FPS.

Your system should have no problems at all.

Make sure that you

* Have the latest motherboard BIOS
* Updated chipset drivers
* Updated video card drivers (Use 5.6. The 5.7 drivers don't get along with BF2 very well)

Yeah. I have a A64 3000 and a 9800 Pro and I play at 1280x1024, all medium, no AA/AF. It plays fine, except in APCs, it stutters alittle there (usually only the first time I ride in one during a match)

Thanks for feedback.

Well, it was a driver issue. The 5.6 drivers didn't install properly, so I reinstalled them (deleted, installed).

Now I play 1024x768, High, 0xAA

I have a Barton 2500+ (no OC), 1GB PC3200, 6600GT AGP, and I play at 1024x768 at Medium (with a couple things bumped to High), and 2x AA, and it runs OK. It stutters like crazy for the first minute of the game till it all gets into RAM, then I never have a problem.

Wish I could get over the initial 1 minute caching stutter.. oh well...

There's no discernable difference between medium and high. You'd be better off bumping the resolution or increasing your AA or AF.

Link for screenshots.

I have a lower end system than that and it runs fine with everything on high except for textures (only 1GB RAM). You should be running on mostly high, not medium.

Yeah, it's wierd. The demo ran perfectly with everything on high, but retail game ran like junk..so I just said screw it and put them all on medium(it was the settings my friend used on his 9800pro, so I knew I could run it no problem) and it runs perfectly and looks almost the same, so I'm fine with it. I'm one who would much rather run completely lag-free then run with all the eye-candy, so I wasn't gonna try and make this resource hog run maxed out.
