I just found out after I have winxp up and running with all devices hooked up that my Autocadd 2000 will not install on the system....

Now I have to create a dual boot system and load my win98se...sucky thing...

1) I need to reformat cause I am running ntfs
2) I need to reformat cause I have only one partition on my c: drive
3) I will have to load everything twice

Just bitchin...

I also notice that my windows office programs are also not winxp ready without me upgrading, and that isn't going to happen...

had the same thing happen to me. i was getting pissed because most of the games i had didnt have XP support yet so when the last straw broke, i tried dual-boot with win me only to remember that i formatted my two partitions into NTFS. and 85% of my hard drive was full! so i had to borrow another hard drive and transfer everything, reformat into FAT32 and install both os's. now i have the compatibility of 98/me and the girlishness of XP.

ACAD 2000 runs fine with XP Pro or W2K or ME or 98se

perhaps it's your setup?

I am running Land development desktop version 2.0 w/ automap 3.0 version...the 2.0 version was an upgrade to the autocadd 2000 platform...It is the engineering wing of autocadd but uses the atucadd2000 as the basis and the engineering functions are mostly lisp routines...

When I put cd-rom in drive and it auto runs setup wizard it says "wrong OS"...will not load, period...maybe autodesk or retailer as some version or update disk to get into xp...I will call on monday...

I would love win2k, but I dont have it and I have win98...which I was running perfectly before winxp install...

Try getting an update. If all else fails reload Win98, install the software, then run the upgrade to WinXP. That sometimes gets you past this hassle.

Thanks...I am going to see if I can get something from dealer or autodesk on monday...I don't really want to pay for it so it is unlikely...I am not ready to update yet...

I have a full install winxp...so how does that work??? I think I will just do the dual boot system...I can still format the volume that winxp is going to be on with ntfs right??? Just can't see the stuff in those folders from win98, right???

I really need to see if I can trade this xp maybe for win2k pro or something....
