Well today, I found out that I don't have a job for the summer. It all started last week, apparently everyone who got this "internship" at state street bank was supposed to receive a paper in homeroom reminding them there was a meeting after school (found the job at school through career counselor). Anyways, my homeroom teacher wasn't there that day and no teacher was substituting and so I never received the slip. I find out today that we had a meeting last thursday and anyone who didn't go got cut. I went to the career counselor and she told me the only thing I can do is be put on the waiting list! Now I have to search desperately for some crappy job like last year.

Screw the career couselor.

If you don't give a damn about this job, then sit around on some waiting list.

If you do care, then find out who you can call to talk about the situation. If you didn't receive something, that is on no account your fault, and you shouldn't be punished for it.

If you call them and explain what happened, then the worst they can say is "No."... in which case, you'd be no worse off than you are now.
