Question This stupid Sophos firewall...

So my workplace has this stupid firewall. Randomly or at some set interval, the firewall goes to sleep or whatever and the corporate intranet website (hosted in Azure) accessed over VPN becomes unresponsive for as much as 30 seconds at a time. Extremely frustrating especially when I'm on the phone because that means 30 seconds of awkward silence just looking at the stupid screen and waiting for it to respond.

I've tried looped tracert to the intranet IP address. There is no serious lag. Occasionally it hits 1300ms but that slowdown doesn't correspond with the intranet site not working.

The IT gorilla has no sense about these things (only in charge because he is the same nationality as the COO).

I need to prove with concrete evidence that the firewall is the culprit. This was never been an issue when I had my IP in "full access mode" (traffic isn't snooped by the firewall). But recently that gorilla has put it back on my IP and not others in the office because he is hell bent on trying to prove that I am harboring dangerous viruses in my PC.

So any help would be greatly appreciated. How do I prove without a shadow of a doubt using some command line networking command to point the finger at the firewall so I can get this sorted out by the vendor who provides support for the firewall? The alternative is getting some guy from that vendor watching me work all day over a remote viewer and since the issue happens randomly, it would be extremely frustrating just waiting for the issue to recur and maybe it doesn't on that day.
