Except the non fictional version has like a 70% death rate.

Watched Contagion, and the Virus depicted seemed quite nasty, but the real deal is worse in terms of fatality.

We have had in past histories mega pandemics that caused quite a bit of deaths, the equivalent of a brushfire. We have not had one in a very long time. Some of this shit we keep digging out seems pretty nasty as we keep encroaching into these jungles.

never heard of Ebola virus?

Kills to quickly, This other one seems like it has a longer incubation period and would have a higher chance of becoming an airborne human to human virus compared to Ebola.

Incubation of four to 45 days, animal to human and human to human transmission via secretions and infected tissues, possibility of becoming airborn, symptoms start as flu-ish and end with encephalitic death. No drugs or vaccines, so the only treatment is management of the symptoms.

...that is a scary bug.
