I wasn't around back in '78... but I'm told that here in central Ohio, this doesn't compare. The storm we had the week of Christmas, though, was worse than 78, I hear.

We had a bad storm in 1978. We ended up with about 2 feet or so of snow.

Back in 1971 we had the worst blizzard ever. The city was shutdown for nearly a week.

did you also live through 1977?

honey,I lived thru 57

:Q

I was born in Jan of 1957 in NYC, several weeks premature, there was a bad snowstorm and my mother had to walk to the hospital.

i was also born in jan [of 19xx] in one of the five boroughs, one week premature... there was a foot of snow that time.

my sister was born a few years later. 22 inches of snow. nuts. but by then, the cars had better traction on the roads so mommy didn't have to walk to the hospital.

and i think they had snow ploughs then too.

I don't think it'll pass the Blizzard of '78. Just sounds like more hype which seems to be more and more typical of weather forecasts the last few years. Look at a map of the snow depths and area affected in 78.. much larger area affected... the coastal areas were flooded... it was way worse than this, although, looking at it from a local point of view, it may be worse for some people.
