This sounds pretty cool...anyone been to anything like this?

There's this workshop thing in the area that's about building computers from used parts. I've always actually wanted to build a computer, but never had the parts or the money to buy them. This workshop's free, so I figgered, I get to play with computer parts that I don't have to pay for, sounds cool. Anyone been to something like this before? If so, how was it?

I suggest you attend.

Otherwise, you can simply open up your present computer, disassemble it and spend a day putting it back together. Its actually a lot easier to put together a computer than people think. Its not rocket science, but rather, practice.

In the long run, you will save yourself some money as well. So on your next system purchase, you can build your own computer rather than fattening the wallet of the local computer store.
