Kudos to them ;)

Mom Alone
{For single mothers}
What's the toughest job in the world?
Firefighter? Jackhammer Operator? How about single motherhood?

You're darn right it's a tough job, but this site was made with mommies in mind. It offers assistance and loads of advice to keep things from getting too crazy at home.
You'll get career advice, fitness help, tips on managing money, and even a forum where you
can talk with other single moms.
Now, we just need a site for single fathers.
"It is difficult and challenging to be a parent today, and it is even more difficult to raise our children alone.
Divorce, death of a partner or 'single mother by choice' -
whatever the reason, being a Mom Alone you experience unique challenges and victories."

eh, i hate to sound like an asshole, but i don't really like the idea of "celebrating single motherhood". i understand that some circumstances make it necessary, but should it be something we celebrate? that's like celebrating poverty.

I agree gopunk, that's like celebrating Cancer. And I know it's just a saying, but I don't like how people say parenting and motherhood is such a tough job. Sure its challenging, but fricken 90% of the population does it, and there are real jobs that are a lot tougher.

Who said anything about celebrating?

This is a site to assist them. It has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH CELEBRATING

I'm sure if they had their rathers they would much rather be sharing the responsibilites
with a man

I thought the toughest job in the world was janitor at a peep show.

Assistant Crack Whore is pretty hard too.

The AIDs quilt isn't about celebrating. It is about remembering and bringing awarness to the world about how big a travesty AIDs is.

have you ever heard them at a ralley or a convention? they came to our school and were proud that this family got to add a patch , it was portrayed to be cool to have a patch on the quilt.

Well aren't you nice...

When did trying to raise your children right become looked down upon as not a REAL job?

Name a tougher job then raising children; raising your kids is more REAL then ANY job there is; everything else is secondary.

And I don't even have kids. People are so damn ignorant.

Agree 100%. (Unusual, I know ;))

Not that I agree w/overpopulating the world to begin with, but does this mean that MARRIED moms have it any easier?

The whole "women who are moms are great but men who are fathers suck" thing pisses me off. This is a sore spot w/me. My son's mom thinks she is the Female Jesus Christ for being "such a great mom." She has issues. I'd like to smack her silly, but she has issues.

i find it ironic, to look at all the moms that are always calling themselves "great mothers". it's almost like they're repeating it to make themselves believe....

Here's some proposed new websites:

Dadalone.com --> dedicated to the single father who was left in poverty by a sudden and undeserved divorce

Dadisbroke.com --> dedicated to the single father who works two jobs to make ends meet because he got raped in child support court

Dadslifeisruined.com --> dedicated to the single father who can't keep a normal relationship together because of his son's mother's
constant meddling in his personal life.

Dadcriesbecause.com --> dedicated to the single father who hasn't seen his son in months because his son's mom likes to play games

Dadismentallyscarred.com --> dedicated to the single father who is so completely soured on the thought of having children with his future wife because he is so damn scared "this will all happen again and I'll have to blow my brains out."

Stick that in your pro-woman file folder and smoke it till you choke.

That was a figure of speech. I don't hit women, that's a gutless thing to do.

Right...what right do you have to call someone ignorant when you don't know firsthand about the kids?

har har :p

i'm just wary of an increasing trend of almost condoning single motherhood. i've heard women even say that they can raise a child by themselves as well as a two parent household would. :disgust:
