This should be fine for a AMD 3700 San Diego right?

Description on the website says this...

AMD: Athlon64 FX 3200+ (socket 939/940) /Athlon64 3200+ (socket 754) and above
Intel: Pentium-4 socket 478 3.2 GHz and above

which the amd 3700 is neither of the two...it is a 939 cpu though.

And any recommendations on what 120mm fans I should use would be nice 🙂 I was thinking of getting a Nexus but I end up going with the Panaflo that Thermalright recommends

The XP-120 will be great. Just make sure that it'll fit on your motherboard. I started w/ a Panaflo L1A but moved up to a Delta Triple-Blade High Speed w/ a fan controller. Can't go wrong w/ either the Nexus or Panaflo.

well, looks like it does as you have the same board I'm getting 🙂

What was the reason that you switched to the Delta fan?

How dose the Delta sound compared to the Panaflo?

I'm pretty much holding off on my order till I hear about this as well 🙂 the nexus seems too low in RPMs for it to be a cpu fan. And the panaflo doesn't look like it's going to be that quiet with a db rating of 30.

Also Caveman, did you have any issues with the xp-120 and the asus board?

I've used the 120mm L1A, it get's very quiet when undervolted you won't be disappointed, I was just curious about the Delta.

I'm gonna go with the Nexus for now. I just can't seem to find a site that has both the Panaflo and the heatsink at a reasonable price. Best combo is at jab-tech for the nexus and the xp 120. if anything, i'll buy another fan later on. thanks for the help guys

Hmm... I know Jab has the Nexus listed in the pull-down for selecting a fan to go with the XP-120, but is it really compatible? Every Yate Loon 120mm fan I've ever seen has plastic channels molded into the fan body where the screwholes are, which will obstruct the XP-120's fan mounting clips. Pic

Is the Yate Loon that's sold as the Nexus Real Silent Fan any different from this?

I think I have to make my own holes or something. Hopefully not but I read did I actually will have to. How is that Panaflo of yours? I may end up getting one later on. Wanted that but it made more sense to just buy the nexus from Jab than to order the panaflo seperatly (it was sold out)

I think the Panaflo is a good tradeoff of power for noise, it's 69 CFM @ 30 dBA. The problem with a high flow fan though, is that if you don't have lots of intake/exhaust flow, it warms up the case and becomes less effective as it recycles its own exhaust. So that's a factor to consider... for the summer I'm just running with the side panel off of the case.
