This should be an easy fix, I just can't get it to work. Please help.

I was working on my cousin's computer last week and I set the bios to default. After I did this I restarted the computer and then attempted to shut it down only to restart again. I've fixed this problem easily in the past, because when it happens on mine I just go to the bios, but her computer is old and the bios does not show that option under power management or any other category for that matter. What can I do, my cousins been bugging me since last week to fix a problem that I don't know the solution to.

I would first try:

Start > Run > MSCONFIG > Advanced > Disable Fast Shutdown

If that doesn't work, then try the MS patch
