Actually I really have concern about this. My recent dental work has proven that novacane (or whatever they call it now) dosen't work on me. If I ever need real surgery, I fear that I'll be awake enough to feel the pain, but sedated enough not to react.

I could feel the entire dental procedure (pain and all) last time, and I was given large amounts of novacane. I just hope that I am really uncoincious during a real "surgery"...

Odd that i'm more likely to feel pain.. Tattoos at most annoy me and I have a serious pain threshold.

Sometimes novocaine will not work on me so I stop the dentist. They put some more in and I am fine. Soemtimes it just needs to reach the right spot. No reason for you to take the pain.

Have an appointment today.

Get it drilled with just the gas, no rubber jaw for a few hours. Only takes 5 minutes.

I've done that once for a very small filling (no gas or navacaine). Any deeper and I would have needed something. I agree that the hours afterwards of numbness really sucks.
