So I am tired of fighting with the DFI s939 NF4 Expert mobo that will refuse to boot up after being shut off and will only work again when it feels like it (3rd one, just got tired of rma'ing back and forth), so it is time to replace it. I will never buy DFI ever again. Looking on newegg I couldn't find that great of a selection in s939 mobos but came accross this MSI for 66 bucks:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130491

All i need it to do is work with my opteron 165 (no oc), 2gb ocz ram, 7900gt, and 2 hdds. Does anyone have any experiences with this board or know of any known issues that it may have?

Not to try and gain any attention to my sale (in sig btw), but my DFI LanParty Ultra-D (s939 NF4) has never given me so much of a hiccup, let alone any kind of real problem. Been a wonder to have but at the time AMD isn't liven up to standards and S939 didn't live long enough so I don't have an upgrade route. Movin up to another chip here.

Have you tried different RAM or a different PSU? I've seen strange issues sometimes with the board being "picky" about the RAM and even PSU, causing it to function sporadically.

BTW, I used to have a DFI Expert, ran an Opteron 144 at around 2.9GHz w/o problems.

I bought my ram and psu according to the recommended list that was on the now dead dfi-street forums. The expert boards just suffer from a cold boot bug that was never fixed. I went through 3 boards that had the same exact issue. Tried out an antec psu as well and nothing. I dont really care for OC anymore as my current water setup is going to be transferred to the intel quad core rig ill be building at the end of the year. I mean the expert is a great board when it wants to work, got my opty 165 to run at 350fsb with the water setup with no real issues for a 3.15GHz OC.
