California is stupid on so many levels. Too bad a beautiful place has been inhabited by mostly tards.

If that is your first time seeing a prop 65 warning then you are either really young, or late getting to cool hobbies. First time I saw one of those was probably when I was 13 and bought my first soldering kit, and even I was behind the curve over 17 years ago.

The moral of the story is that California is a shithole.

I love it when stupid people post comments like this based on nothing but ignorance.
No, he's right. I live smack dab in the middle of tards ville. But then again, I've lived pretty much almost everywhere relevant in this state, so I can vouch for his opinion.

Nah, Ohio is the shithole I grew up in, and am now back at for many reasons. I am not a midwestern yokel, and lived many other places. Have family that lives in California, and trust their judgement which aligns with mine. At least in Ohio we don't need a label to tell us inhaling lead fumes is bad. Not being bankrupt is nice too, although we should be with the morons that run this state. FYI: A "utopia" is really based on your own perception of perfection, and does not really exist. The more people you let in on your utopia, the less utopian it seems. If California is your idea of perfection then more power to you, but I heartily disagree, and not simply on slackjawed country principles of Ohio.

California is not my idea of perfection. But I have lived here for 23 years (more than half of my adult life) and spent a fair bit of time in many other states in this country of ours and haven't been to one yet that I'd rather live in than California.

What I've found is that people who dismiss the entire state as a haven of liberal idiots have obviously never been here and are just talking out their ignorant asses.

My .02

Cheers. :p

I used to live in California, note the operative words "used to". I know plenty about the place and the people who inhabit the state. Sorry it is loony tardsville when taken on the whole. I'd stack my intelligence against yours any day by the way.

I use tons of shit that says that.

Say you're using a non-volatile solvent to clean something. If someone in California injected it into a rat every day for two months, then it got cancer...hello warning label. Good thing you're not planning on ingesting it.

In most cases where there is ONLY a California label, the warning can better be interpreted as Warning: this item is dangerous for helmet-wearing retards who enjoy games such as 'drink what you find underneath the kitchen sink.'

Yea I see those warning labels everywhere. Most recent one was at Trader Joes where they put this label next to white/balsamic vinegar saying that this product contains lead. I remember I posted one of veggies last time as well. Might as well put a warning label on fried foods and how they can cause cancer.

OK, I just want to make sure this thread is rehashing a 37 year old law in which unnecessary state pride is coming in to play. I know ATOT is made of stale forum bits, but this has to be a new low.

I have been to California, and am not talking out my ass when I say it is not for me. I think the cancer in California joke is not really needed, because again, this is a VERY old law and only the OP is being attacked here. Not saying you Cali douches aren't exceptional at taking things out of context but I think you are overguarded at this point...

I always laugh when I see that. The problem with putting artificial dangers on items is that you can't tell what is REALLY dangerous anymore. Well if you have common sense you don't need labels, but their point is to inform the ones with less common sense .

Even my furnace has that warning on it. I suppose the CO it produces could be dangerous, but I don't think that causes cancer, it just kills you. :p

I just like being able to recite the full names of dangerous carcinogens like PCBs, PAHs, and BPAs. PAHs are especially fun at barbecues, and part of why I am ostracized at them.

I've noticed that I have a variety of items "not for sale in California." It leads me to wonder - are the people in California smarter, and they get a cheaper comparable item? Or are the people of California at the mercy of their idiotic legislators, forcing them to pay twice as much for a comparable item because it has a safety mechanism designed to protect complete morons from a hazard that no sane person would be injured by. "Oh look, he stuck his tongue on the muffler and burned himself. Let's redesign the generator so that the muffler is complete contained inside a cage that won't allow someone else to burn his tongue."

If I recall, at one point, kids' dirtbikes (the little ones with a motor) were going to be banned because... they contain too much lead. That's right, the little 5 year old is apparently going to disassemble the dirtbike, tear apart the battery, and eat the lead in the battery.
