You can go back to the 2006-2007 range and find the left, especially on this board (who could forget Harvey Macros? 😀 ) giving the neoconservatives exactly what they deserved. Yet here we are some years later and nothing from the left is said. Why? Does our integrity rest on what side the Presidency resides? Seems to be the case from what I can tell. Anywho the above cartoon fits.
 
Just as quite a few predicted too, the loudest Bush critics have all but disappeared now that Obama is in the White House doing more of the same, some worse. Hypocrites to their very core.
 
I'm thinking the left gave up on the complaints because they came to realize that the interests that support the war are not replaced by complaining.

For me personally, I become older and jaded and realized that there is a history of prevailing so called wisdom that we must take these type of actions such as the Iraq war and that my time is better used focusing on issues where I can personally make a difference. I don't like it and I voice that to anyone who cares to listen, but I won't be blaring the trumpets constantly, because it does no good and unfortunately too few agree. I accept that we make choices collectively by voting and we must make the best of the aftermath of what I've opposed. I can only hope that we will not soon enter into such a full scale blunder. If you've a suggestion about how we can control our military arm while still protecting ourselves, I'm all ears. I am concerned for our country because I think that our need to project our might to protect our interests could also be our downfall. I'm sure every generation has a large group of people who go through this. I don't think the opposition to war has changed, I think the current dems just know how to keep that from bubbling up as where the reps use it as a platform to run on that they want to kick some foreign ass.

Because they are the first to take up this argument and only stopped when their side came into power. That tells me it wasn't because they knew the wars and killing of the innocent was wrong, its because the one in power had a (R) next to his name.

Both sides are guilty of economic treason IMO but thats not whats being discussed here.
 
Well, one thing they did finally, legitimately shut up about was that stupid "NO WAR FOR OIL!!!" bullshit.

I made a few of my liberal friends who towed that line a few years back blush when I asked where all the stolen Iraqi oil had gone. 🙂

People "on the left" are not in favor of targeted killings. Some might be, but your generalization is bullshit.

Iraq or not wars have expanded and there is no outcry from the left. I understand the whole idea of wanting to support 'your side' and all but you must hold those you support to a higher standard IMO and the left simply hasn't done that.

The only war going on right now is in Afghanistan, and people on the left have complained about it for a long time. Certainly more than complained on the right. But it's been in a static mode for a long time now -- what are they supposed to do, jump up and down?

Who wanted withdrawal from Afghanistan -- the right or the left?

Next we have the situation in Iran. As usual, there, the hawks are on the right and the doves on the left.

Hell, we have Republicans opposing Chuck Hagel as SecDef because they don't think he wants more war in the middle east.

Fair enough. Its true the trumpets were definitely at a deafening level during the Bush years and that seemed to make a lot of progress (being facetious here). But I do intend for those who complained (mostly democrat) the most to check their own hearts to see if what they claimed was so abhorrent then, is still as abhorrent today with Obama. One way to measure that would be public outcry. There isn't any. Which is why I call it into question.

Again, there isn't any news. Nobody's going to keep up a "public outcry" for years.

And the current situation is not even remotely comparable to the Iraq War disaster.
 
Rachel Maddow expecially, never criticizes the Obama on the war. Bush was one of the greatest disasters ever to happen to America, voted for by the brain dead posting here.

Once we were f'ed by Bush, the debate turns to the best way our and back from a gigantic tragedy. That is a complex and difficult issue, way way over the heads of the morons posting here who think they have all the answers. My personal opinion is that Obama is getting us out, but not fast enough in my opinion. My opinion, however, is worthless, the difference being that I know it.
