This palm is a work of art

maybe, but there is something nice about the color screen on silver that looks really nice.

They don't have color palms yet? Mindspring (?) has had color Visors for a bit, what took palm so long? That thing looks a heck of a lot better than the purple prism 🙂.

heh, well palm has had a color palm.. b4 mindspring too, it was called the palm 3c. This new unit is based on the palm V design, so its in a much smaller/nicer metal case. Much Much nicer then either the palm 3c or the visor prism. Paying that much for a lousy big peice of plastic has gotta suck. Mindspring has to lower its prices to be competitive with palm products😛

Only thing one has to wonder aobut is battery life😛

They do have color palms, the Palm IIIc is the only current color palm. The m505 would just be in a much sleeker, thinner casing.

Isn't the m505 only 16 colors? The PalmIIIc is 256. I guess for a PDA it does not matter much. BTW, I hear that m505 pic is a fake.

? Have you seen a palm v? Since this is basically a color palm V, and the palm v came out way before the ipaq, wouldn't the ipaq be ripping palm off? Plus, i doubt the ipaq is anywhere as small or light😛

I was refering to the fact that the iPAQ had the silver casing and the brilliant color display fist.

Ah, but the new Palms are 16-bit color. iPaq is only 12-bit. Anyway, it does not really matter on a PDA.

I just got this palm this week, it is a Palm IIIc. I am just amazed what this thing will do. I always thought these were mere toys, but after using mine this week, I cannot imagine life without it!! Bought mine at Mwave for $287 plus shipping.

gah, i just looked at the visor prism, the thing is actually thicker then a normal visor.. what a peice of crap😛 Big/heavy bad.

<< gah, i just looked at the visor prism, the thing is actually thicker then a normal visor >>

yeah, the thing is actually like carrying around a brick 😛

I hear that! I had one for a few weeks and returned it for the iPAQ. Even though the iPAQ is only 12 bit (as opposed to 16 bit) the screen looks better because of it's resolution. The Palms and Visors are all 160 x 160 (which is fine for black and white but brutal on color) while the iPAQ is 240 x 320.

Thanks Gunbuster, I couldn't remember.

Yeah, I'd never get a color Palm (or clone) unless it cost allot less than an iPaq. For the price of the prism I'd rather get the iPaq.

I can't wait 'till the PalmOS gets proted to the ARM platform.
