Retail HSF, Abit IS7-E, 2x512 Valueram (Saumsung), 225 FSB (for 3.15 GHz). Stock cooling but with Arctic Silver. Seems realllly high under load, but drops right off. I know the Abit boards report temps 5-8C higher than other boards, but this still seems like a huge range.

i have a 2.6c and ive always heard that anything over 60-65C is too hot and you should consider backing off. thats just what ive heard, others may feel differently.

Even though Abit boards report high, that is way too hot. On a Northwood 60C is pretty hot, even for a retail HSF. Try reapplying a thin layer of AS to it and re-seating the HSF to see if that helps. It could be on the chip wrong causing excess heat build up.
