This new EVGA case has blown me away

Its called the Hadron and there are going to be two versions.

The Air cooling version, seen above, and the water cooling version, shown below.

They have an integrated 500 watt Gold certified PSU (except the little fan is gonna be whiny as hell).

It looks like this would be a somewhat cheaper alternative to the M-Case.
 
EVGA makes cases now? Guess they'll let anyone who can afford to buy the materials machine a case. >_> OP, do you have a link to these. I am not entirely put off by the design. I just have special requirements for cases or special dremel disks.

Not necessarily. Antec's Earthwatts bronze units up to 500W have an 80mm fan and they are whisper quiet.

I'm not convinced EVGA's PSUs are good though. I hope they have the sense to release PSU-less versions of the cases

Unfortunately it appears to be a Flex-ATX psu with a 40mm fan. Also at $189 I'd rather have an Ncase.
 
Now this is the kind of curved metal corners/sides that I wanted Corsair to do. This case is nice but too bad it doesn't come with an ATX standard PSU. Why is the bottom half propped up only at the front? Strange to see it designed to be placed on an incline.

Because carbon fiber sheets aren't cheap compared to steel and aluminum. The production process(applying resin, autoclaving, fine detailing and paint) is way more time consuming than bending, stamping and pressing metal to shapes that they want. For $200, you could only afford the side panels.
 
What's with the windows?

They are bad for emissions control, and usually I want my computer to not look too computerish.

In this case they make what could be a slightly stylish but overly glossy case into a crass, classless example of exhibitionism.
I don't want to see my computers bodily fluids circulating.
 
Evga failed already by using a flex ATX PSU. You can tell they listen to the market. /sarcasm

carbon fiber is also an insulator.

not really.. thats only if they needed specially molded shapes.
Were not wrapping indy cars, or automotive.

If they made boxes out of carbon fiber it would still sell.
Basic shapes or a U shape out of carbon fiber is not terribly expensive.
Well, considering how most of these cases are from china... in china i guess carbon fiber is more expensive...


Anyhow once 3d printing takes off, say bye bye to case vendors..
They NEVER listen... and its always down to you yourself to either mod, or fix.

So i'll just 3d print my own case.

and since when did people use cases as a heat sink?
Unless we talking about passive case designs where the side panel is the heat sink.

My MM with powder coat paint job is also very insulating.
Yet the temps inside the case and outside dont variate more then 1-2C degree's...

I wish I could 3d print my own case already. So much easier. All boutique case vendors will be out of business! Even if the cost is the same, I'd take being able to completely design specifically to my needs vs some design that I have to alter either the case or my idea.

Appears as if FSP is the OEM for this 1U PSU.

It is 1U, which is like Flex ATX but longer.

Years back there was the Ultra eXo case, which was an ATX mid tower made of carbon fiber (with aluminum bits to join it). MSRP was a cool $1000.
 
Even with the 1U PSU, it looks pretty cool except that price tag is too much.

Not comparable to the new CM 130 they're gonna release.
 
Nice looking case but the power supply is a downer/killer for the whole thing. Guess EVGA wants to make sure you come back to them if/when you need to replace it. And a 40mm fan for it? Seriously? C'mon, man!

Nope, standard 1U PSU. Available anywhere server PSUs are sold. Yes, physically constrained by 40mm PSU width.
