I just switched my granddad over from AOL to Netzero Highspeed and it is faster than AOL. Even if it wasn't it's still only $15/month. I'd post pics but I'm on Win95 and I can't find any free image hosting that'll accept bmps!!! :| I don't feel like downloading photoshop on dialup just so I can save as jpg....

Isnt it just compression of images and text? Faster webbrowsing, Not actually a faster speed?

No matter how good or bad netzero highspeed is right now, it will only get worse from now on...

I hate bmps and i'm sure others hate downloading bmps. Why don't you use a free image editor like IrfanView it's not even 1 megabyte.

I THINK netzero high speed is just v.92, while Reg. netzero is v.90. I may be wrong but that is what it sounds like in their desp.

well for earthlink, on high compression mode they recompress images like crazy before they send it to your modem. i wonder if it blurs out nips ;)

Don't they also cache a lot of data locally with these "hi-speed" dialup services, in order to cut down on transmission time?

That's what I would've figured. The lower latency would help a bit.

Well all I know is it does compress stuff like crazy. I can set it to compress more but images start looking so bad you can't identify what they are. lol....

Too bad it doesn't work on Win95.
