My mouse has a scroll whel. I want to clean the rubber ball in it. Ihave removed the screw underneath the mouse. I only see one screw. When I attempt to lift the top of the mouse off. it sticks at the scroll wheel end. I am afraid to apply too much pressure for fear I will break something. How do I get the top off to get to the ball?

Most mice allow you to remove the rubber ball from underneath the mouse just by twisting a little plastic piece which then comes right off (and the ball falls out since that's what holds it in). I've never seen one that requires that you take the mouse completely apart to clean it. BTW, look into an optical mouse. All your cleaning problems go away ;).

could you specify what kind of mouse that you are using...
cause just like MGMorden said.. most analog mouse doesn't require u to use any tools to clean it....
just turn the plastic piece on the bottom of the mouse counterclockwise to open it...

Its actually not my mouse, I am helping someone with PC questions and that was the problem description I received. I thought that he was trying to clean off the scrolling wheel, he was actually just trying to get to the ball on the bottom. Thank you guys for the help.
