Putting a computer together for a friend and it's locking up at the splash screen. He picked these components, he had some from an old build.
This CPU; C2E Kentsfield QX6700

This motherboard; Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 (With 4GB DDR2 667MHz.)

Is the 945 chipset not compatible with the QX6700 in any way or on any motherboard?
Gigabyte lists it as not compatible on their site;

Oi. The headaches. I was not aware that the 945 couldn't do Kentsfield.
I have four sticks of 1GB PC-5300 DDR2 667MHz RAM, will this work in a 965 motherboard with a Kentsfield installed? I know it's not ideal if it does work but it's already here.
