It's not as dumb as it looks 
i'm an ABC (american born chinese) and since i'm not living in my natural habitat I cannot write or read chinese, but only speak it. I've been talking alot to my cousins and am finding myself looking up on the web english to chinese dictionaries to see how to write certain words.
If anyone is bored enough, perhaps he\she could do a "word" a day thing or perhaps more. I really don't want to take classes and just want to learn a little each day. The dictionaries don't help because either i cannot read the extended definition or it does not describe the context of use clearly enough.
Programs to be used will probably be msn messenger since it supports chinese text easier than AIM as well as handwriting capabilities.
