This may sound stupid, but is there any problem with using too many power connector extension cords?

It depends whether your talking parallel (e.g., printer cable) to parallel or Power (Pc, printer, etc.,) to power.

Daisy chains of Power cables are technically a fire hazard and should be avoided if at all possible. Daisy chaining power strips is also a technical no no. Fire marshals and building inpectors rumordly love to slap fines on companies that practice this technique.

As for parallel daisy chains, I'm sure you'll end up with some inevitable limitation on the maximum length.

Just use some common sense and remember that the majority of electrical fires in houses/apartments are the result of overloaded electrical outlets. An electrition once told me that the building code requires no more than 2 computers to share the same circuit.
