Is this similar to how cheesecake is neither a cheese nor a cake but really a delicious pie?
I have a small group of friends who I think honestly believe that cheesecake is a cake rather than a pie. For awhile I thought they were just trying to get on my nerves, but I'm starting to think otherwise. They also say that water isn't wet.

I need new friends.

Can't block me, cause you know it's true!!
Do you even hear the words coming out of your mouth? How is a filled, pie crust a cake? If you want to layer it, frost it, and add candles, sure, let's call that a cake. But a traditional cheesecake is definitely a pie.

Names are irrelevant though. Your name could be Einstein, but that doesn't make you a genius. If my dog's name was Cat, it'd still be a dog.

You're not giving it a proper noun. Its not Doug the Cheesecake. Its a common noun. Therefore cheesecake = cake

I actually don't care either way

The early Greeks considered cheesecake a cake. Some modern authors point to the presence of many eggs, the sole source of leavening, as proof that it is a torte. Still others claim that the separate crust, the soft filling, and the absence of flour[14] prove that it is a custard pie.[15]
Sorry, cheesecake isn't a cake. Greeks just didn't have a good word for 'dessert that's not hard but isn't made of floury stuff'.

If water is wet...how can a wetting agent make water wetter?
