This makes me sick...

Its pretty messed up, but in the US that would have never even been brought to court. My family (dad and brother) are both firefighters and see similar things happen. Like a chief in city supplied SUV rushing to a supposed "emergency" and driving 100+ in a residential area, only to hit a huge bump (hill) in the road and launch the Ford Expedition litterally 100 ft (before it hit the ground again) and completely totaling the vehicle.

The firefighter chief involved wasn't even suspended with pay. Cops get away with even more.

happens all the time here... half my riding buddies are cops from various departments...

they do wheelies stoppies top end blasts drag racign etc... when they get pulled over stead of running like the other squids they just whip out thier badges and boom 2 mins later they are gone again...

Most cops if you know them well enough can even get other cops (if they know them or are in same precint/dept) to not show up to court when they supposed to go agasint you..

what is so surpising about this?
called in that favor a few times... its good have have friends in high places =P

What, are you surprised or something?

I just hate the hypocrisy, especially given the speed cameras recently introduced along four or five junctions of one of our big motorways. "Speed kills" but a cop can do 159mph testing a car on public roads which should have been done on a track before it was put into service. No wonder our police have such an abysmal history of accidents and fvck-ups.

every job comes with certain perks

a cop getting away with speeding is a perk of being a police officer

get over it
