I never got the pony-nyan cat thing. It's more annoying than anything else, and I have the world's goofiest sense of humor.

Guessing there's an inside joke in there somewhere.
MLP:FiM, of course.:p

"It needs to be about 20% cooler" - said in Episode 16 as part of a song/medley.

Adam Jensen in Deus Ex looks like a total badass, especially with his automatically closing augmented sunglasses.

The joke is that they made him look really badass except for the sunglasses, hence why the guy says "hmm...he needs to be 20%b cooler", and then the sunglasses go down, and he's really happy. Like MLP happy.

And then the MLP reference which is just widely used now.
