Coefficient of friction was WAY too low. It was like the things were made of ice-coated teflon or something.

Looks like it was imploded from the inside with explosive charges set to demolish the building by our shadow puppet gooberment overlords. Also the building stored in RAM chip number 7 mysteriously demolished as well, how do you explain that? Hmmm? Not that I'm feeling particularly paranoid schizophrenic or anything at the moment. *shifty eyes*

Agreed. Something was...off but you hit the nail on the head, the blocks slid across each other like they were waxed. But it was still pretty cool to watch.

Yea, looking at the pieces I almost expected them to be smooth blocks. We could argue the physics in regards to how the blocks should have moved based on their 'smoothness' but without some figures as to how that was calculated, or if it was even considered, in the original render, I don't see the point arguing about it.

reminds me of the CryEngine exploding barrel videos. I'm a little more impressed with how lifelike the OP video is compared to the CryEngine barrel videos, but not by much. CryEngine is definatley a step ahead on actual photo realism.. But I doubt that;s what the OP's video was going for. That looked to be strictly about physics.

CryEngine 3000 barrels.

The friction is a parameter of the simulation, whether things slide too easily or not has nothing to do with the physics engine and everything to do with a parameter of that particular simulation.

That's what I hinted at in my post above yours. That unless we know what parameter it was set at and if that kind of parameter was considered, we won't know how accurate the render was.
