Brain stuff is amazing. You’ll need to push replay multiple time however it is really cool.
Good explanation as to why this happens at the end of the story. I advise playing the few second video several time to get the effect.

video with the woman is a better choice to play.

I don't get it. I don't hear any words at all.

I clearly hear whatever word I am looking at.
Eyes closed on the the twitter video I hear a little bit of both words but the work order can flip.
Completely crazy how our brains just fill in missing info to make everything work.

link to second story of Yanny vs Whatever name I forgot. I only hear Yanny.

Well, I certainly hear one or the other - but not necessarily the one I am looking at. What are the chances that this clip just randomly plays one or the other? 😏

How do you hear brainstorm from that? I vaguely hear something that ends in "eedle"

Going in blind, I heard Green Needle.

But yes, once I intentionally thought "Brainstorm", I did hear brainstorm.

I tried to think of other words like sex, death, Mariahand I hear "Green Needle" or just "needle" with "Green" not fully intelligble.

This is with my mom blasting a story about the past about BS church people in the local Chinese church(stealing a bunch of meat 18 years ago still stings) in the background, so yes, I am partially distracted.

So, sound version of the "duck-rabbit"? I saw only duck at first and it TOOK A WHILE to see a rabbit.

I for one have zero interest in experiencing a "brain-needle" ... unless maybe it's in the hands of a neuro-surgeon during a medical emergency!

the box is from a toy the said “brain storm”
Interesting how something with similar sounds waves (not necessarily sound) that is fuzzy enough causes your brain to fill in missing information to help process it.
This is what I find so crazy about it.

Did a couple more tests and I found that if I have the tv on in the background I hear brainstorm, if it's completely quiet I hear something that ends with "eedle"

I can get all of them pretty easily. Neat.
It was pretty easy for me to go between Laurel and Yanny too, when that was the thing.

We need some English as a second language people to tell us what they hear.
Also some proper English speakers from the UK.
I wonder if the result is different for them?

i have a feeling that a lot of it is due to the age of the listener as well. its pretty well known science that as we age, our range of hearing is affected.

for example, both of my teenage kids could hear needle, but i could not.

there are frequency generator apps or videos that you can use to test this out. eg:

hmm makes sense, I do have excellent hearing for my age.

I could hear needle, but couldn't really hear any frequencies over 12,000 (and am over 40)

First I heard green needle. Then I listened again with my eyes closed and heard brainstorm
