This is why you need Quad-SLI

Err, 1920x1080 isn't exactly a high resolution. In fact it only has 8% more pixels than 1600x1200 which is considered a middling resolution by today's standards.

Regardless, Quad SLI is generally useless. SLI AA isn't very good and the performance with regular AA is often worse than 7900 GTX SLI.

Also nobody in their right mind would pick up Quad SLI now when a single 8800GTX would likely give it a run for its money and it will be here in a few days.

Well most HDTV either have DVI or HDMI. Since HDMI is basically DVI w/ audio you can just a cord that is DVI-HDMI or an adapter.

For $7k I would much rather get two 50" Plasmas @ 1366x768, a 42" LCD @ 1080p, a Xbox 360, a PS3 and a bunch of games. But hey that is just me.

Who is shopping for you?

:Q

i hear Santa has Coal for your stockings ... notice even HE wears Red.

😀

and maybe Quad Sli if you are gonna run TWO of 'em
--Qsli DOES run two displays now, right?

def don't need quad SLI for that low of a resolution. just play SLI should be more than enough for awhile. Heck I'm drivein 1920x1200 a tad bit highier with a single x1900xt. Sure there are times when I would slike a 2nd card but I just can justify the expense at this time.

Only LCD's TV's I've liked are IPS. Others looks washed out and has poor view angles. That image is super imposed on there, fake.. please go look in RL before ordering...

14 bit color!?!?:Q Wow! How much does that cost?

priceless 🙂

actually pretty reasonable . . . MSRP is $4K

i've seen them for $3200

Anything above 8bit looks same..big deal is you can see it crystal clear and bright from all angles with no shimmering effect on screen and it's fast. Sorta like a plasma but 1080p.

Quad SLI for a 1080p tv :! dude my single X1900XTX can play all the major fps/rts on 1080p and crossfire can handle oblivion at that res.

So, it looks like lcd's are really starting to mature. By the time they finally get some new tech out, lcd will probably still be able to compete. Would be nice to have this scaled down to a 26" monitor at the same resloution. I know i'd be willing to break the bank for one.
