I live in NJ, where it's illegal to pump your own gas (unless you live on the military base, where you do it yourself). I pulled up to a BP, my gas tank was down to a quarter left.
Me: "May you please fill it up regular?"
Gentleman: "Sure"
Me: "Thank you" (I'm a very polite person at everything)
The tank finishes at around $18.50 something. The guy's older coworker comes to my car and wants to even out the price. Usually, when they go just a tad over, say up to about $.10 because it happens, they just take that dollar amount and pretend it didn't happen. Instead, he stopped at $19.03, paused, then proceeded to go up to a whole $20. Would've been ok to stop at certain increments ($.25 or $.50) but just kept on going.
A weak rant I know, but a dollar gives me a 20 oz. drink if I ever feel thirsty.
