A friend of mine does that. They have a place in Denver that you can qualify I think - also I think you can at Lake Estes.....but other than that you're pretty much screwed obviously

if california, nevada, and utah sunk below sea level i can dive and see marine life !
While I will agree that the Sierras are nice and Yosemite is definitely impressive, CO > CA. CA has the sierras but they can't make up for the rest of the state, the high cost of living, etc.
CO has some amazing scenery that is right up there with Yosemite. But for a lot of it, you gotta work to get there, not just drive to it.
But hell, anything has to be better than MI.
