Your comment proves you can read and retain information. So why is it that nearly everything you comment on you end up claiming you don't know anything about it when you end up being challenged?
He doesn't care, he's just here to entertain himself by poking anyone that isn't a conservative and grinning at the results.

what would this voting test prove? intelligence? because voting to give away all the money in America and run it into the ground is the "smart" choice right!!!

you would have to know the candidates and party and what each stand for. As well as basic civics on the US system of government and how it works. Just because you would fail doesnt meant you cant educate yourself for future elections. You wouldnt be able to walk in and just pull the R or D lever and walk away anymore.

LOL, you say that like this isn't already happening, it's just that they're giving all the money to the people that already had most of the money.

What needs to happen is the opposite of a voting test It should be mandatory for everybody or face a fine like in Australia.
Then you actually get the middle 'where common sense lives' out instead of the polar opposites and politicians engaging the masses instead of the outliers

Others siding with me is irrelevant. I don't seek or need the approval of anyone to justify my opinions.
In this case, what you perceive as a comment on climate change was actually a comment about the OP's thread where he thought water pollution in India was caused by climate change. In other words, a cheap shot.

I like a cheap shot sometimes!

And maybe offer a small tax break for voting, too.

Carrot stick, whatever it takes get more than 2 out of 3 eligible voters out, means the president voted in has 1/3 of the vote, less when you factor third party candidates etc

If you ask Americans which policies they support, the middle of your survey would fall to the left of today's average Democratic politician.

To the LEFT of the AVERAGE??? Millennials, sure, my generation, no. Between the two - seems like more of a toss up. AFAICT, there's a difference between what people support and what they want. Hence part of the reasons polls wind up failing on that score. Part of it is messaging and counter messaging. I'd bet almost all Americans would've support the initial Biden proposal for infrastructure, if the stupid YouTube adds I saw didn't lie about what it was at every fricking opportunity. Democrats kind of suck at positive messaging while the republicans are freaking criminal masterminds when it comes to negative messaging.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but there were class mates when I went to college of both men and women back in 2016, that were nearly my age and said that Trump was a whole lot better than Hillary and Trump would win. This college I went to was in New York City. Millennials are even turning into toss-ups.

That's not what's being discussed, I believe what dank69 was referring to is that absent the couching policies in terms of D/R, people tend to support more progressive policies than their voting records might lead them to believe they support.

Did you know that New York City has been shifting towards the Republican Party since 2012.

He's an idiot troll without valid points to engage.

If he ISN'T actually trolling...then he's just that much more of an idiot. He can sure play the victim when someone calls him on it, though!

Bro, take a look at this very short list:
main-qimg-b9c06d13cc7a6ad63b3323c92b1eb537-lq

Then ask yourself, which of those you disagree with. Keep a count.

Most Americans believe all of those things unless they've been fed some BS talking points about why they are bad. Most of those talking points argue against straw-man versions of those goals, attack narrow parts of specific policies that attempt to correct those problems while ignoring the overall picture, or are straight-up lies.

All Republican politicians will fight tooth and nail to obstruct any policy that attempts to fix any of those issues. Some Democratic politicians will also obstruct some of those policies. Hence, we can reasonably conclude that most Americans are actually to the left of Democratic politicians. Even Republican voters that agree with all of those policies right up until their masters tell them it's fascist commie socialism.

Well, only one, because it doesn't mean what it says, but I actually care about social justice (though, not quite the way young SJWs do). Nice list - good luck getting that message out, and good luck getting people to vote that way, as you explained. That was my point. Maybe I misunderstood yours. Anyway, my generation allowed all this shit to happen when we had the bulk of the power. We desperately need a repeat of actions taken by TR and FDR, or the poor and middle class with continue to screwed over.
