I've just about decided on the parts I'm gonna get for my new system.

AMD XP 1600+
Epox 8kha+
Taisol CGK760092 hs/f
Maxtor D740X 60gb HDD
Hercules GF3 Ti200 gfx
2x256 mb Samsung PC2100 DDR
Chieftec (Antec) case w. 350 w PSU

and from the old system:
IBM 75gxp 30gb (still works, knock on wood)
Soundcard
NIC
DVD Panasonic 5x
Plextor 8/4/32 CDRW

I will be running Windows XP pro as my OS.

Any tips?

Looks like a great system... very simliar to mine

mine:
Xp1600+ (oc to 1624)
8kha+ (running 11/02 bios, solved my every now and then reboot issue)
512mb of Crucial DDR
Taisol CGK760
Gf3
Maxtor d740x 40gb

One note, i did flash to the 10/17 bios before installing anything with the athlon xp... smooth installation, really great performance, really stable (been up for 4 days now... last rebooted to update a driver ).

Looks like a nice system, but my suggestions would be:

You might want to look at the Thermalright SK6 instead of the Taisol. I have one and it seems to offer a little better performance compared to the Taisol I had.

Hercules cards are typically more expensive than other brands. You can get another brand Geforce3 Ti200 for like $50 less. Is there a particular reason why you're going with the Hercules? I know, the blue PCB and heatsinks are hard to resist but it seems kind of a waste to me since all Geforce cards are based on the same reference design and perform almost identically to eachother.

I don't know about Samsung RAM since I've never used it, but I always (along with the majority of the people here) recommend Crucial. You can get a 256MB stick of PC2100 for less than $30 if you go through the special 16% off Anandtech link , and Crucial offers free 2nd day shipping to boot.

Thanks for the comments, I will go ahead then. As for your suggestions I can't really change much since none of those components are available here in Sweden. Strangely enough though, the Hercules card is the cheapest card here. So I'll stick to that.

And the Ti500 is definitely out of my pricerange.
