This is what happens when there is fear of a snowball shortage in WoW

Similar to a fear of a gas shortage in real life. Players thought that Blizzard was removing the snowballs upon the restart, so everyone came to the only person that sells them in the game, lady Penney.

All that and they did not take the snowballs away. The vendor is still there even after the server restart.

Can someone fill those of us under a rock, in? Is this snowball seller a real person/player or a non-playable character? How does this affect the game. I don't give a rats ass about playing WoW, myself, but those are funny pictures, none-the-less.

It's an NPC that's only around for the holidays. The only other way to get snowballs is to have an engineer make them, and it requires a fairly rare schematic (gotten only during this holiday or last holiday season). Plus engineers can only make 1 snowball/day per character. Now you can buy as many snowballs as you have room to carry. They're fun to chuck at people, as it can knock people you're dueling/fighting against/fighting with flat on their butt. Plus there's a certain novelty factor to whipping out a snowball in July:)

Essentially it's a fun gimmick with insanity driven by upcoming shortages (not unlike many infamous christmas presents of the past).
