Recently, my system has been experiencing an instant death syndrome:

No blue screen, no lockup, just instantaneously when I'm doing something the monitor will go out, the mouse will go dark(optical) and everything shuts off, but the box is still humming....fan etc...... with the moboard leds on......

when i hold in on the power button, the box will shut off, but it takes successive tries to make the system reboot and then it says windows shut down improperly of course. I started to think it's heat so i installed mbm5, and temp ranges between 110 degrees and 120 depending on what I'm doing which seems high to me.......is it possible it is shutting everything down when it climbs past 120????? and if so, why doesn't it shut the whole box down............

I let windows handle my power management and up to now it's been flawless......i have always hated msi's power management routine and how it is so quirky and out of sync with others etc......

I'm not overclocking at all and I can't imagine a windows thing being responsible for this.

any ideas guys????????

thanks

antec case with antec 250 watt ps.

the fan is running at around 6000 rpm, but fluctuates a little bit.

hasn't done it today at all, but the temp is 112-117 degrees
